These angioplasties were performed with an observed mortality rate (OMR) of 0.24%, which is less than one-half the mortality rate seen statewide (0.63% shown on page 9 of the report).
Furthermore, under Dr. Marmur's Directorship, University Hospital of Brooklyn (SUNY Downstate) achieved the lowest observed in-hospital mortality rate (0.27%) for all major centers performing PCI in the State of New York for the 2002-2004 reporting period (page 9 of the report). |
